The Hour That Changes the World… meditation

I am finishing up my reading of the book ‘The Hour That Changes the World‘ by Dick Eastman.  It’s been an interesting read thus far, but one section really hit home with me today and I thought I’d share it.

In chapter 11, “Meditation”, it ends with the following statements by Eastman.
“Any thought that meets the measure of Philippians 4:8 may serve as a focus for meditation. Teaching received in a Sunday school class or excerpts from a Christian periodical make excellent “food for meditation.”  Even a distraction during prayer may serve as fuel to ignite the flames of meaningful meditation.
If, during your time of spiritual evaluation, a distressing thought repeatedly buffets the mind, make that thought a special point for meditation.  With God’s help, walk through the problem step by step until a solution is discovered.  Soon, meditation will become a practical way to visualize new avenues for sound spiritual growth.
Philippians 4.8

8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things.

This made me realize that things that happen during my day can be reflected upon during my times of meditation.  It seems like a no brainer, but I think I’ve been attempting to make my times of seeking God separate from my everyday dealings with life to a certain extent, unwittingly.
Lord, help me to seek you and find you daily.
