Levi (the priests) get cursed, not blessed?
Posted on 19. Jan, 2010 by John in Christianity, Everything
Did you notice that in Genesis 49:5-7 (when Jacob is blessing his sons) that Levi (the father of the Levitical line, priesthood) is cursed and not blessed?
5 “Simeon and Levi are brothers;
weapons of violence are their swords.
6 Let my soul come not into their council;
O my glory, be not joined to their company.
For in their anger they killed men,
and in their willfulness they hamstrung oxen.
7 Cursed be their anger, for it is fierce,
and their wrath, for it is cruel!
I will divide them in Jacob
and scatter them in Israel.
See Genesis 34:25 and surrounding verses.
It’s very curious that the father of the line of the priests was cursed by his father because of his fierce and cruel wrath.
Did you realize this?
Am I wrong in my understanding here somehow?
