Max McLean is a male actor and very good. His voice is a bit dry, but not overly exaggerated or under spoken either. There is some very subtle music in the background which makes for a pleasant listen as well. I've had and heard several other audio versions of the Bible and they have been either too dry or too exaggerated and therefore distracting to me to the point of not wanting to listen to them. @ Jordan
